Handy tips for dropping the background (needed when making Tshirt or stickers), in photoshop
In Adobe Photoshop, I simply go to the search button top right and type “remove background” then select it as a quick action
you should get an image like this and select apply it to get an image like this. For complex backgrounds you may have to do some image clean up, but for simple images, this works great. To keep the transparency setting stay with PNG for exporting from Photoshop.
I simply got to File and then Export – to export as PNG to use on your Tshirt or product, gives you a super clean background
Then if you need to upsize your image (make it larger for higher resolution), go to Image size under Image on menu – and select the width enter a larger number that you need (keeping the connection link between width and height), so only need to enter a larger number into width, then press ok.
It will resample and again, export as PNG and you’re ready to use on your Tshirt.
Update: – I have just used this and finally followed my own blog for how to set up ondemand print shop to create my products.
Even when you are using you’re own photographs and artwork, for Tshirts, it pays to use this process to clean up images.
